Meet delmetria millener (thawriter)
Red head writing. I was asked once why do I like to write. That's easy. I write for the very
reason I breathe. The truth is, figuratively, I would die if I could not express myself with words. Literally, I would die if that expression didn't generate income for me to eat or feed my family with my truths. My work is my nutrition. I am a writer. My soul bleeds ink. My pores sweat words. Sometimes they're for work. Sometimes, they're for me. Mostly, they're for you. Always and all ways!

Louisiana bred, Texas fed. It's almost a paradox that I'm vegan. I'll write anything, but I specialize in natural wellness and lifestyle. In my dreams, I own a specialty tea shoppe with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, hardwood floors and cafe-styled seating. In real life, I own a specialty tea shoppe online.
I am a year-round-flip-flops wearing, 21st century hippie. I'm attracted to rainbows. I love to read, write and write. My family thinks I'm a rock star. (I am. But that's another dream.) When I'm bored, I write. When I'm happy, I write. When I'm sad, I write. When I'm mad, I write. When I'm on the New York Times Best Sellers list, I'll let you know.
I love the color ORANGE! Gotcha. And my humor is dry. (<<see?! Lol!) The tides have turned, so my kids have become my rock. My co-pilot is my balance and I laugh like nobody's watching...even when they are. :-

This young athletic-looking guy with me in this photo is my rock and how I got my xxx. He may not have been there when I took my first steps, but he has been by my side for every step since. The little 6-year old girl with the determined eyes is me. My smile is genuine. His serious gaze has shown me how serious he takes my care and that the heart has an endless capacity to love. Both of us reflect a bond built on trust, love, and countless shared moments. He taught me that family isn't just about blood, but about who stands with you through hard and easy times. His unwavering support and love have shaped me into the person I am today. It's what dads do.

As a teacher, my responsibility is to use language, literature and composition as a platform to equip my students with the skills they'll need to be marketable in today's competitive job market.
I use varied media and creativity to engage them in rigorous and differentiated learning that should prepare them for the real-world. The two ladies in the photo with me taught me well how to do that before they left: the one in the middle moved to Heaven. The one on the other side moved to Africa. (I moved to Asia.)
Now, from all I gleaned from them, I've learned to link learning and life by challenging students to push beyond their limits. I do not accept mediocrity, but perfection isn't high on my list either. I just want them to find their footing and keep their balance.
