As a performing artist - thawriter received her early ballet and modern dance
training in Louisiana at the Carol Anglin Dance Center, Unique Dance Unlimited
and the InterCity Rowe Modern Dance Theatre. Later she studied in California at
the San Francisco Conservatory of Ballet , and finally in Texas at Texas Woman’s
University and Dallas Black Dance Theatre.
Advocacy - thawriter is the Texas director of the African American
Environmentalist Association, where, as part of her endless work on
environmental awareness projects, she uses her writing as a vehicle to spread the
word about saving the Earth, natural wellness and animal rights.
thawriter received dual degrees in Business Administration and Psychology from
Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas. She intends to pursue a masters in
journalism, and later, a doctorate in counseling psychology.
For a number of years, thawriter pursued other work as a residential youth
counselor which exposed her to the stunning artistic ability of youth that simply
needed direction and resources to turn talent to profit.
These experiences led her to develop Hearts for the Arts, Inc. where, as the
founder and executive director, she serves as a motivational speaker, life coach
and career counselor for young artists.
Her most important role however, is as mom to and fan of her active and very
artistic children, and center and equalizer to her Universe and Soulmate.
